Imagine my delight when it was announced a few months ago that the Dessert Truck would be taking up residence on weekdays a few blocks from my office. I had never sampled the dessert truck fare as I am not typically wandering around the LES late at night looking for dessert. My first two dessert truck treats – Peanut Butter and Milk-Chocolate Mousse Parfait and Chocolate Bread Pudding – were good not great. They were great relative to costing $5 and being dispensed street side from a truck, but not relative to my gourmet dessert standards. I suspect that I was not enamored with the first two desserts because they were milk-chocolate based and I am a dark chocolate kind of girl. My relationship with the Dessert Truck took a sharp turn for the better yesterday when I stopped by on a whim and tried their new special – NY Cheesecake with Graham Cracker Crumble and Caramel. Wow, wow, wow – the NY Cheesecake was one heck of a good dessert. I hope the special sticks around for a while. In more exciting food truck news, on my walk back to the office from the Dessert Truck outing, the Rickshaw Dumpling truck was parked a block from my office on 53rd and Lex. I had eaten lunch already, but the driver assured me that they are going to try to park in the ‘hood once a week. Life is good.

Holy sh*t- Rickshaw Dumpling has a CART now???!!! We might have to move back. Love that place.
(I am slow to comment here but I am also way obsessed with dark chocolate over milk, so hopefully all is forgiven.)
Very useful topic. Thx.
